On Thursday 5th June 2025, students from Bank View School joined us for the final session of the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool Charitable Foundation’s Career Walking Tours Plus programme.
The day began with an employability workshop at the Holiday Inn Express, where students continued exploring soft and hard skills and how these are applied in real workplace situations. Building on learning from previous sessions, students discussed communication, teamwork and problem-solving, while also considering the different skills needed within hospitality and customer-facing roles.
In the afternoon, students took part in practical hospitality experiences at Revolution Liverpool Albert Dock and Revolución de Cuba Liverpool. Activities included pizza-making and mocktail-making sessions, giving students a hands-on insight into careers within the hospitality industry and the day-to-day skills used in these environments.
The afternoon sessions were supported by Rhe, Business Development Manager at Revolución de Cuba, who helped facilitate the activities and shared valuable insight into careers within the sector.
The completion of this final session marks the end of the first funded Career Walking Tours Plus programme, which has seen students from both Bank View School and Riverside College take part in a series of career-focused visits, employability workshops and practical experiences across the Royal Albert Dock.
The programme has provided young people with the opportunity to build confidence, develop workplace skills and gain exposure to a variety of industries and career pathways. Following the success of the project, the Foundation is now looking for further funding opportunities to allow the programme to continue and expand in the future.
