The Royal Albert Dock Liverpool Charitable Foundation has just secured new funding to launch an expanded version of its successful Career Walking Tours programme.
The new initiative, Career Walking Tours Plus, has been made possible through generous support from both the P H Holt Foundation and the The Hedley Foundation.
This funding marks an exciting step forward for the programme, which connects young people across the Liverpool City Region with real-life career experiences at the Royal Albert Dock. The original Career Walking Tours already give students the opportunity to meet professionals, explore workplaces and take part in interactive sessions designed to broaden their understanding of different industries.
With the introduction of the Plus project, the Foundation will be able to work with groups for extended periods, building on the initial tour experience with more in-depth employability training and skills development. This will help students better understand and apply what they have learned during the tours, strengthening their confidence and readiness for future pathways.
The expansion of the programme also allows for deeper engagement with schools and young people, as well as stronger connections with employers and partners across the Dock.
This latest support from both funders represents a significant boost to the Foundation’s mission to inspire, educate and open up accessible career opportunities for young people.
